Yami Gautam Dhar, born on November 28, 1988, in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her work in Hindi cinema. Raised in Chandigarh, she initially aspired to join the Indian Administrative Service but shifted her focus to acting at age 20, leaving her law studies to pursue a career in entertainment .

Gautam began her career in television with shows like Chand Ke Paar Chalo (2008–2009) and Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam (2009–2010) . She made her film debut in the Kannada movie Ullasa Utsaha (2010) and gained widespread recognition with the Hindi film Vicky Donor (2012), earning the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut .

Over the years, Gautam has showcased her versatility in films such as Badlapur (2015), Kaabil (2017), Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019), Bala (2019), A Thursday (2022), and Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga (2023) . In 2023, she starred in OMG 2, a satire addressing sex education in India, which became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year and earned her a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress .
